Cario in Review 2025: What It Means for You in 2026

09 January 2026

Director, Cario

"2025 was about getting better at the fundamentals. We made Cario stronger where it counts - customer service, freight visibility, last-mile execution, and driver compliance, so we’re ready to build what’s next"

Freight Is Changing and Here’s How We’re Helping You Stay Ahead

We strengthened our platform so you can manage freight with less effort, greater accuracy, and faster decision-making.

Your Freight Control Tower: Planning and Execution, Connected

We introduced a fully integrated freight ecosystem that brings planning and execution together under one roof.

  • Cario FMS is your command centre for freight planning, rating, compliance, and cost control—replacing fragmented tools with a single, intuitive platform.

  • Cario Connect TMS is your execution engine for last-mile delivery, enabling dynamic runs, real-time scanning, and built-in compliance, with full delivery visibility.

What We Delivered in 2025

Here’s how last year’s innovations translate into tangible benefits:

A stronger operational core with Cario FMS

Hypercare: Faster Issue Resolution

Hypercare is a dedicated workspace for customer service teams. It brings all shipment details, notes, and status updates into one dashboard, so your queries are resolved quickly and accurately.

Your benefit: No more chasing multiple contacts, your issues are handled faster, with fewer handovers.

We introduced a new Freight Overview screen that gives you a real-time, consolidated view of all consignments across carriers and customers.

Your benefit: You can track every shipment at a glance, make informed decisions quickly, and eliminate blind spots in your supply chain.

This feature uses smart algorithms and 3D visualisation to optimise how your products are packed into transport units.

Your benefit: Reduced freight charges through better container utilisation, fewer wasted spaces, and improved packing accuracy.

Insurance can now be applied automatically during bulk uploads, based on goods value and type.

Your benefit: No manual follow-ups or uncertainty, your shipments are covered seamlessly, reducing risk and saving time.

We added layered ETA insights: carrier-provided ETA, likely ETA based on historical data, and adjusted ETA factoring in holidays and external conditions.

Your benefit: Better planning and communication with your customers, no more surprises on delivery times.

Product vs Shipment Units provide clearer separation between item-level data and transport units.

Item Weight vs Total Weight improves accuracy in rating and reporting.

Route-based location rating enables more advanced rate matching scenarios, including Route-to-Route and Zone-to-Route pricing.

Together, these updates ensure the most accurate rates, timings, and calculations are applied, even in complex carrier and pricing environments.

To improve delivery forecasting, we introduced Carrier ETA vs Likely ETA.

Users can now view:

  • The carrier-provided ETA
  • A Likely ETA derived from historical shipment performance
  • An Adjusted ETA that accounts for public holidays and external factors

This layered approach supports better planning, clearer customer communication, and more realistic delivery expectations across the network.

2025 also delivered a range of usability and compliance-focused enhancements:

  • Fragile, Liquid, and Perishable flags to support special handling and compliance
  • Hand Rates, Fuel Surcharge, Fees, and Tax managed through a dedicated cost panel
  • Editable and savable table layouts across customer service and consignment screens
  • User-level default rows per page for a consistent viewing experience
  • Responsive scale and layout improvements at any zoom level
  • Knowledge Base hyperlinks embedded in UI banners for faster access to help content

These improvements collectively reduce friction and allow teams to configure Cario around how they actually work.

Elevate Managed Fleets with Cario Connect TMS

Dynamic Runs: Greater Flexibility for Deliveries

Drivers can now create and manage delivery runs on the go, without waiting for pre-assigned routes.

Your benefit: Faster, more adaptable deliveries that keep pace with real-world conditions, improving reliability and customer satisfaction.

We added new scan types like Card Left, Futile, and Damage to improve exception reporting.

Your benefit: You get clearer visibility into delivery outcomes, enabling faster resolution of issues and better compliance tracking.

Drivers who fail required safety checks are automatically prevented from starting runs, with supervisors notified instantly.

Your benefit: Confidence that your deliveries meet compliance standards, reducing risk and protecting your brand.

Looking Ahead: What You Can Expect in 2026

In 2026, we’re taking a step further - we’re moving beyond visibility and control to intelligence and automation. Our AI-driven roadmap is designed to deliver:

  • Predictive Insights: Know about potential delays before they happen.
  • Smarter Routing: Optimised routes that cut costs and improve delivery speed.
  • Automated Onboarding: Faster setup for new carriers and customers.
  • Self-Service Tools: Give your team instant answers without waiting for support.

The result?

  • Lower operational costs
  • Higher on-time delivery performance
  • Less manual work for your team
  • A freight operation that feels effortless

Why This Matters

By removing the gap between planning and execution, Cario delivers:

  • End-to-end visibility from order to delivery
  • Faster, data-driven decisions in real time
  • Lower freight costs through smarter optimisation
  • Better customer outcomes with accurate ETAs and proactive exception handling
  • Scalability without added complexity

This isn’t just an upgrade, it’s a new way to run freight.

Thank you for partnering with us. We’re excited about what’s ahead, and we look forward to helping you evolve your freight operations in 2026
