Industry: Civil Construction Supplies |
Jaybro, who we affectionately describe as the “Officeworks of civil construction,” is a rapidly growing supplier to the infrastructure and construction sectors. Driven by both organic growth and acquisitions, Jaybro found itself managing a large and diverse freight network with over 300 different carriers across a complex product range.
From satchels and safety gear, to oversized concrete barriers and dangerous goods, no single carrier could manage their entire freight profile. Their teams were juggling multiple systems, inconsistent processes, and limited visibility. Add to that a patchwork of ERPs (up to eight), and it was obvious that freight operations were hampering the business.
The incumbent freight platform just couldn’t keep up with Jaybro’s needs. The business required a smarter, more straightforward way to manage freight across its diverse operations.
The complexity of Jaybro’s freight network was slowing operations and making it difficult to control costs, performance, and compliance. Every acquisition added a new supply chain and more carriers, leading to lack of visibility, duplication and inconsistency across regions and business units.
Sales and operations teams were wasting time logging into separate portals to book freight and track shipments, while finance lacked confidence in freight cost forecasting. The lack of a unified view also meant there was no straightforward way to measure emissions, let alone optimise for sustainability.
Jaybro needed a single freight platform to organise the chaos and help the business prepare for the future, especially as it transitioned to SAP as a unified ERP.

Two key factors were guiding Jaybro’s search for a freight management partner: Capability and culture. After a rigorous evaluation process involving stakeholders from sales, operations, finance, commercial, safety, and IT, Cario emerged as the best choice on both counts.
Cario consolidated all carrier activity, which included tier one networks through to regional “mum and dad” operators, into a single platform. This provided Jaybro with immediate advantages; simplified booking and tracking for frontline staff, fewer manual processes, and more accurate quotes and ETAs. Sales and operations now work from the same data, and customer updates are faster and more reliable.
With freight data flowing into a single system, finance and commercial teams gained clearer insights into their spending and performance. For the safety team, Cario helped provide reassurance around chain of responsibility compliance.
Cario’s Carbon Calculator was also a game changer for Jaybro. For the first time, the team was able to measure Scope 3 emissions across their entire network, including smaller regional carriers. That gave them an edge in sustainability reporting and helped uncover cost-saving opportunities along the way.
Critically, Cario’s integration with SAP was a key part of Jaybro’s technology roadmap. By embedding real-time freight data into its ERP, Jaybro is strengthening its foundation for enterprise-wide visibility and decision-making. As AI capabilities grow, they are also utilising features like automatic POD retrieval, which proves especially useful when managing over 300 carriers.
Jaybro is now running a standardised, efficient freight process within one of the most complex logistics environments. The business is saving time, improving visibility, and paving the way for scalable growth with:
“Cario delivered out-of-the-box wins and has been a true partner in helping us tackle our most complex freight challenges. With the data and tools they’ve provided, we’re positioned not only to simplify but also to grow”
